Mary Lynn Muth - Third Grade A

Ms. Muth attended Christ the King Elementary School from 1st – 8th grade and graduated from Tates Creek High School. She received her BA degree in Elementary Education from Transylvania College and Masters degree in Education from Georgetown College . She has been teaching 37 years and has been a teacher at Christ the King School for 27 years. Ms. Muth is a member of the Nation Catholic Educational Association. Her faculty responsibilities include chairing the Environmental Committee, organizing the Rosie program and planting school gardens with the 3rd graders. She is the school representative of the Fayette County Green Committee and organizes the “Cans for Cash” competition for Christ the King School.
Ms. Muth is a native Lexingtonian. She has been a hospital volunteer and CCD teacher. She is an animal lover and supporter of the Humane Society. Her interests include gardening, reading, and gourmet cooking. Ms. Muth shares her home with her dog, Sera.
Colleen Harned - Third Grade B

Mrs. Collen Harned recieved her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Kentucky in 1983 and her Masters in Elementary Education from Georgetown College in 1987.
Mrs. Harned started her teaching career at Christ the King in 1984. From 1984 until 2006, she taught second grade. During each of these years, she assisted in preparing the First Communion and First Reconciliation for the second grade classes. For the last four years, she has taught third grade.
Mrs. Harned is a member of the National Catholic Educators Association. In 2002, she was awarded the Catechist of the Year Award from the Archdiocese of Lexington. Over her years at Christ the King, she has served on numerous committees and groups including textbook adoption, Spiritual Life, uniforms and playground. She has also assisted in interviewing and hiring teachers and assistants.
From approximately 1988 to 1998, Mrs. Harned was the director of the Extended Day Program at Christ the King.
Jacquie Bobart - Fourth Grade A

Mrs. Bobart received her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University (K-8) and a Master’s degree from Georgetown College. Her educational experience includes twelve years of teaching children aged six to sixth grade, which she did off and on in between raising her children. This is her seventh year teaching at CKS. As an undergraduate, Mrs. Bobart was very involved in Kappa Delta Pi, an honor society in Education, and served as president during her senior year. In addition to teaching, Mrs. Bobart enjoys working on the Christ the King yearbook and serves on the Discipline Committee.
Ann Moran - Fourth Grade B

Mrs. Ann Moran has enjoyed teaching 4th grade at Christ the King School since 1984. When not teaching, grading papers, or planning lessons and activities, Mrs. Moran enjoys hanging out with her daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. She particularly likes attending their soccer and baseball games. This past year, Mrs. Moran has focused some of her professional development efforts on church history--listening to tapes and meeting with Mr. Rod Stern, Director of Religious Education at Christ the King. She currently supports safety planning and preparedness activities for the school. Mrs. Moran holds a Master’s Degree in education from the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Kathy Kiffmeyer - Fifth Grade

Mrs. Kiffmeyer has been teaching in Catholic Schools for twenty-six years, thirteen of which have been at Christ the King School. Mrs. Kiffmeyer has both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Masters of Arts degree in Education. She has a religion education certification from the Diocese of Lexington and is a member of the National Catholic Educational Association and the Catholic Library Association. She has been named to Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers and was awarded the Kentucky Science Teachers Association’s 2006 Middle School Science Teacher of the Year. Over the years, she has taught many grade levels and a variety of subjects.
Sarah Baumgardner - Fifth Grade

Ms. Baumgardner was born and raised in Lexington, KY. She is a graduate of Christ the King, Lexington Catholic High School, and the University of Kentucky. While at the University she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and the ETS Award of Excellence in Principles of Learning and Teaching. In college, Ms. Baumgardner was very active doing service for sight through her sorority and hopes to continue serving others through her position at Christ the King. Her teaching experience ranges from an extended day program at Veterans Park Elementary, work in a first grade classroom at Cardinal Valley, and work with a fifth grade class at Southern Elementary. Ms. Baumgardner will teach fifth grade Social Studies and Language Arts, as well as sponsor Math Counts. She is excited to be coming home to Christ the King!
