Mrs. Bedingfield was born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky, where she attended the University of Kentucky, earning a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. She received a Master's degree as a literacy specialist through the University of the Cumberlands. Mrs. Bedingfield has seven years of teaching experience, serving five years in the Fayette County public school system, then the last two years teaching third grade at Sts. Peter & Paul Regional Catholic School.

Mrs. Bedingfield and her husband, Blake, have two dogs, Tucker and Blair, with whom they spend a lot of time! Mrs. Bedingfield may be a familiar face, as she is a member of the Chris the King parish.

SaraH WHITLOCK, 3RD Grade teacher

Sarah received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky in 2012, and her Master’s from Georgetown College in English as a Second Language. Sarah has experience teaching both 3rd and 4th grade and is very excited to be back in 3rd grade this year.

Mrs. Whitlock is married to her husband, Joey, and they share three children (Evelyn 4, Oliver 3, and Caleb 1.5). Sarah is the youngest of four children and loves the community that a big family creates. She enjoys her busy schedule and believes each day is a blessing.

TRISTA COCHRAN, 4th Grade teacher

Growing up in Paducah, KY, Mrs. Cochran attended Catholic schools from K-12th grade. She then moved to Lexington to pursue her passion of teaching. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and also holds a Master’s of Arts in Education as a Literacy Specialist. Prior to joining the faculty at CKS, she taught for nine years in the Diocese of Lexington. Mrs. Cochran challenges herself to find ways to spark minds and engage students with hands-on activities through the use of the Daily 5. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, cheering on the CATS, and being outdoors.

Sara Ashcraft '03, 4th Grade teacher

Mrs. Ashcraft has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Kentucky and a Master's degree in Reading and Writing from Eastern Kentucky University. Mrs. Ashcraft teaches fourth grade social studies, religion, language arts, reading, and math. She sponsors and coaches the Faith1st Spirit Squad. She also serves on the Safety Committee at CKS.

Cathy Hourigan, 5th Grade teacher

Mrs. Hourigan has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in the area of reading from the University of Kentucky. She served as second grade assistant from 2006 until 2015, and now teaches fifth grade reading, math, religion and science.

LEE COOMER, 5th Grade teacher

Mrs. Coomer has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Middle School Education from Bellarmine University, as well as a Master's Degree and Rank I in Administration from the University of Louisville. Before joining the faculty of CKS, she served as a teacher and administrator in Catholic schools for 24 years. Her faculty responsibilities include serving on the Stewardship Committee, serving as a K-Tip mentor for teachers and she is the coach for the Elementary Academic Team.
